Social Media meetup in Wellington

On April 4th, i finally organized my first social media meetup event in Wellington (New Zealand). What a relief to know that despite the rain, every single person showed up. Not always easy to start everything from scratch when being so far away but as i like saying:” Distance is only in the head” Right? Things that we sometimes imagine impossible are truly possible!!!:D

The event was friendly and informative. See it for yourself with a few feedback i received on it.

Let’s talk Social Media in Wellington

Have you ever felt like sometimes you could conquer the world?

Well that is exactly the way i feel right now. Although i have been in New Zealand only for a few weeks, being in a new environment is so refreshing that i feel like anything is possible “business wise”.

So here i am, holding my first Social Media meetup at The Southern Cross on Wednesday April 4th in Wellington City.

When Cricket meets Romance and…Social Media (Me :) Part I

Indeed, while the journey continues in New Zealand, i couldn’t miss the opportunity to start looking for new clients. After few weeks living here, i did find one, from Australia and i am happy to introduce him to you guys.

Algenes Edmund Dantes is not only a writer, he is also a Medical practitioner, passionate about Romance but mostly about Cricket and just published a book named: Cricket Maiden in which he combines romance, science fiction, match-fixing, three fascinating 20/20 matches, and the supernatural all rolled into one razor-sharp adventure.

Today, the main challenge is to build a whole new “social media” community around his book and get as many people involved in this project as possible whether they are from a Cricket background or not. So why waiting longer? Let’s get started and join the movement ;-)

Oh yeah! You got is right. My journey in New Zealand is far from being over. Soon, i will tell you how i actually got the chance to meet my new client, Algenes and how social media has helped me to do so with a few tips and advice ;-)

In the meantime, my new mission is to grow Algenes’s community around Cricket Maiden, on Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, everywhere.

Sport and Social Media event in Wellington

To get to know a little bit more the Kiwis and specifically how they approach Social Media, i decided to go and attend to Sport and Social Media event presented by Clare Wolfensohn and had to regret at all.

Clare Wolfensohn did a very great job with her presentation choosing Rugby, the national sport in New Zealand, as her main example to represent the impact Social Media can actually have on Sport. Indeed, i was very pleased to learn a lot but also observed different strategies she used and applied for her projects. It’s always good to see people’s creativity and inspiration to get the job done as far as it concerns social media :0

I was also glad to have been able to meet Clare in person. It’s always good to know more people from the Social Media industry and especially when we are “new” in town and who knows…I might see her again. Sometimes, we do live in a small world ;-)

Social Media Club in Wellington

When we are so far and isolated as i am today, it is sometimes funny and easy to think that nothing is happening in small cities. However, Wellington and the Kiwis certainly proved me wrong the other day.

I have been really surprised to discover the existence of a Social Media Club here in New Zealand and next thing you know, i was attending to my first social media event. How is that? :)

New Zealand: Let the new journey begin

Who thought one day i’ll be working at the very end of the world?

However, i got this fantastic opportunity to come and live this fabulous adventure here in New Zealand. There was no other answer than YES to be given.

What about the blog you might wonder?

Well, thanks to internet and this worldwide connection, i will still be able to continue updating the blog from here, sharing news and lots of tips for you guys ;-)

Facebook launched a Subscribe Plug-In for websites

Joanna Shields, VP & Managing Director EMEA of Facebook announced at Le WEB’11, they will be launching very soon a Subscribe Plug-In-for websites.

“Whatever website you will be going to, it will have now a plugin, that is an extension of the Subscribe Button” announced Joanna Shields.
